Set up the area as seen above with 2 goals back to back and GK in middle to defend both goals. There are safe zones at either end of the field as well as in the middle (semi-circle shape). Cone of the middle area for the Goalkeepers safety and no player is allowed in this area.
Attackers (Red) play 5v2 (2 Defenders in Blue). Attackers (Red) have to make 3 passes before they score in any goal, and Defenders (Blue) make 1 pass before scoring in any goal.
First to 5 goals win. Rotate roles of players, allowing players to be both Defenders and Attackers.
Technical Coaching Points
Awareness
Attackers need to be aware of their surroundings looking for space, time, teammates and opponents.
Body Shape and Footwork
Players need to use their footwork to put themselves in possession to see the ball and the goal.
Passing
Attackers need to pass the ball concentrating on good weight, accuracy, timing and disguise.
Receiving and Control
Players need to receive the ball with their body open, looking to play to their target quickly.
Principles of Play Objectives
As a coach, decide how many of these principles you wish to focus on.
Create Space
As a group, players need to stretch the play by using good length, width and depth within the area to exploit space when possible.
Passing and Support
Attackers need to be able to support their teammates with good angles and distances (length, width and depth) to receive the ball and move the opposition to create space to exploit.
Movement
To create space and goal-scoring opportunities, Attackers need to use good movement to lose Defenders and create space for themselves and their teammates to exploit.
Creativity
Players need to use disguise passing to break lines and move the ball effectively to play forward to the goal.
Penetration
At the right time, Attackers need to penetrate and exploit the space created.
